Netflix finally available on Boxee Box

Boxee team made a good present for all Netflix and Boxee fans on the Valentine’s Day. Netflix finally arrived to the Boxee Box! It’ll be available after firmware update (1.0.4.17443) manually or automatically. The Netflix Boxee App gives access to the huge collection of movies and TV shows in SD and HD quality. But unfortunately for US and Canada. The rest world is still waiting for Netflix expansion or some similar service. In any case, if you live in US or Canada and have Boxee Box and Netflix subscription just update it and enjoy!

Seagate updated firmware of FreeAgent Theater+ HD

Yesterday, Seagate released a new firmware of its network HD media player FreeAgent Theater+ HD. The most important change is support of online services such Netflix, YouTube, vTuner and Mediafly. The rest interesting ones are improved MP3 cover art and tagging, ability to create screensavers using personal photos, UTF 16 character support, WMA Pro audio support, motion JPEG support.

The FreeAgent Theater+ HD with new firmware is available at just $129. Which is very reasonable price for player with supporting of Full HD, online services and offering dock for external HDDs. Existing owners of the FreeAgent Theater+ HD will able to update firmware via Internet or from USB memory stick.

Netflix came to the Windows MCE

Windows MCE users have a possibility to access to more than 12,000 movies and TV episodes from Netflix directly on their HTPC. After installing a new plug-in powered by Silverlight technology the Netflix link will appear under “TV + Movies”. Sure to use it you should subscribe be Netflix subscriber. Also the Netflix integration is not available on MCE extenders.

Netflix and Samsung’s bring Blu-ray players to on-line

According to information from Samsung web site Samsung and Netflix made an agreements to offer consumers watch internet movies and TV using a pair of Samsung Blu-ray players – BD-P2500 and BD-P2550. That’s cool feature by the way. You can use one device to playback DVD/Blu-ray disk and as a Netflix set-top-box to watch movies and TV shows over Internet.

LG’s BD300 Netflix Blu-ray player UI looks nice

Recently I wrote about new LG’s BD300 Netflix Blu-ray player which can play-back stream from Netflix on-line movie rent service. Here is another details about that interesting device. It has amazing UI (have a look on the screenshot). The BD300 can also play-back media content from networked PC or memory stick attached to the player’s USB port.

The BD300 will support Profile 2.0, interactive BD-Live features and Bonus View (picture-in-picture commentaries and special features).
