HomeSeer Remote Access Service

HomeSeer
HomeSeer Technologies announces the release of its new remote access service, MyHomeSeer-Connect. The new service simplifies the process of setting up remote internet connections to monitor and control lighting, security, HVAC, irrigation and audio/video systems in HomeSeer-enabled homes. The new service is specifically designed for homeowners with standard DSL, cable and dial-up internet connections and should be compatible with all internet service providers.

Cost for the service is just $19.95 per year; less than $2/month. Users must have the latest version of HomeSeer software installed and (of course) an internet connection.

MyHomeSeer-Connect service is now available at HomeSeer.com.

Home Heartbeat

Home Heartbeat

Recently I found an article about Home Heartbeat system. The Home Heartbeat system is a mostly monitoring/secure system. The system includes a base station, variety of sensors and Home Key device which is a control console of the system. The base station listens to those sensors and alerts you when there’s something you should be aware of via WiFi (transmission zone is about 30 meters), email or SMS. There is a possibility to plug Range Extender which can expands the transmission zone of the Home Heartbeat system.

As I already said the Home Heartbeat system can be used only for monitoring your home. It doesn’t include any home automation modules. But the price (it shouldn’t be too hight), easy installation procedure and ability to check a status of home devices are good point to start build your smart home from the Home Heartbeat.
