Pulse-Eight, offered HTPC based on XBMC, announced selling of the Motorola NYXboard remote control on their web site. The $59.99 device has QWERTY keyboard on its back side. Plus it supports both RF and IR. So, you’ll able to control all your IR-based AV equipment and will navigate easily through media libraries or online services.

Boxee announced next firmware update

Boxee finalized the periodicity of firmware updates for Boxee Box and other Boxee-based devices. It’ll be released every three months. So, next update should be available in May. It’ll include following improvements – faster loading and scrolling, favorites and history in browser, improved ffwd/rwd controls, new look for on-screen-display, possibility to sort by source, .nfo support, new languages and support for iPad.

Also Boxee promised fix a log of bugs in the upcoming update, such as generating of duplicate button presses in case of using USB IR receiver, impossibility to invoke HTTPS URLs from search bar, wrongly displaying of special characters etc.

Evoluce Kinect-based 'Win & I' gesture interface for Windows 7

Evoluce announced its new Kinect-based gesture interface for Win7 “Win & I” which brings PC remote control to the new level. Sure it needs to be polish and user should be prepared for it but even now it looks very impressive (see the video below). The “Win & I” home edition is tagged at €20 only (without Kinect, of course). So, you may try it to control your media center and enjoy new feeling.

Also there is an another similar software called Air Presenter. It’s developed by So Touch. According to its video presentation the Air Presenter offers more native gesturing and hand-waving then “Win & I”. Its gestures look a bit similar to work with touchscrteen.
