AlertMe released iPhone/iPod Touch interface

alertme_smartplug

Recently I blogged about adding Energy Saving Range line into AlertMe products to control power consumption of specific home appliance or hole house. But AlertMe team doesn’t stand still. It announced an interface for iPhone/iPod Touch. It allows to view and change the status of an alarm, see who’s at home, look at event history and view the temperate sensor values around house. Also AlertMe is planning to support other smartphones.

Moreover, AlertMe released its API (that’s used for the iPhone interface above). So, developers can use it to provide the interface for their devices and integrate AlertMe Security and Energy Saving Range into their systems. But I couldn’t find any information about a way to get that API on the AlertMe site. Maybe it’ll be announced later.

Universal control application for iPhone

iViewer

iViewer is an application for iPhone and iPod Touch that allows you to control any hardware or software capable of TCP/IP socket communication. Once of good application of iViewer is control of home automation systems such Crestron, AMX, Control4 or LinuxMCE.

The iViewer has fully customisable interface. The guiDesigner offers all tools to create user-friendly and functional GUI (for people who familiar with Crestron or AMX’s interface design software using guiDesigner won’t be a problem).

iViewer is available on the Apple’s AppStore store for free download. So, don’t miss it!

As I know LinuxMCE developers investigate possibility to use iViewer with LinuxMCE. It’d be great. Because currently iPhone owners can use web orbiter only.

Dark Knight MythTV Theme

Dark Knight MythTV Theme

The new story about fearless high-tech fighter with crime Batman was very success with both earned money and viewers’ rating (to be honest I wasn’t impressed by that movie). If you like it you can setup a new Dark Knight based theme for your MythTV box. Unfortunately, it has 4:3 aspect ratio. So, it won’t be situated for the wide screen TVs. You can download the theme from the Rapidshare.

Savant’s GUI for N810

Savant_UI_Nokia810

Savant Systems provides a big number of devices to control its home automation system. One of them is Nokia’s Internet Tablet. It run Savant’s proprietary software which offers a user friendly graphical interface to manage all devices known by the system.

If I understand clearly it’s impossible to install that software on your own device. You should buy pre-configured N810 from Savant.
