Hi Sam,

Thanks for your idea regarding my problem with MD. I suspect that it's related with different architectures somehow. Because when I had a i686 core the MD was boot fine. And I faced with problem of adding MD after installation AMD64 ISO. I cannot add it even manually. So, I try to find the root of that problem together with LMCE developers.

Regarding to VDR. I'm going to install satellite dish that weekend. So, for sure I'll post the results of testing VDR in my blog.

Hi Michael,

for the MD not booting up, I had some issues when I was using ethernet links of different speed.
They use NFSv3 which is based on UDP and has its own flow control mechanism. So if you have a core with a gigabit link to a switch, but your MD is only 100Mbps (or there is a 100Mbps link in the middle), the core will send data over NFS too fast for the MD, and because the flow control of NFS doesn't work well in this situation, the install may hang. Don't know if that's your problem but it's worth considering.

Also, would be interested to hear your opinion on 0710beta3 and specially on the maturity of VDR. I had mythtv working perfectly using the frontend from KDE desktop (not launching it from the orbiter, that crashes too much) so I'd like to be sure when I reinstall that VDR is the right choice.

thks !
