TV tuner for the test home system

Hauppauge PVRUSB2

Since I decided to build a simple test home automation system at home I heed a TV tuner to watch analog TV. I’d like to use it with both: MythTV and VDR. So, the Hauppauge tuners seem to good for that purpose. I chose WinTV-PVR-USB2. It has built-in hardware MPEG-2 encoder and features composite/S-Video and audio inputs to connect to VCR, camcorders or satellite receivers (I’ll try to connect to it my STB).

According to information from MythTV, VDR and LinuxMCE wiki the WinTV-PVR-USB2 is well-supported by those systems. Moreover, there is a way to order it from Pixmania.com and ship to Cyprus for £80.
