Control your HTPC with USB Wireless Handheld Keyboard and Touchpad

USB Wireless Handheld Keyboard and Touchpad

The USB Wireless Handheld Keyboard and Touchpad looks like a substitute for ordinary remote control. It has a 48 keys QWERTY compact keyboard with backlight and 2.8″ touchpad with left and right mouse buttons. Using those it’d be easy to search movies in the media library or control playback. I just would like to have dedicated arrow and Ok buttons.

The device uses 2.4GHz radio frequency. So it allows to use it up to 30 feet effective working range. It has built-in rechargeable battery (I don’t like that) and possibility to switch device off to save energy. It’s supported by Windows as well as by Linux. The price of the USB Wireless Handheld Keyboard and Touchpad is $62.

UDPATE: That Handheld Keyboard and Touchpad can be also purchased from EFO web site just for $40, plus $5 shipping to any country. Also they promise that device is compatible with Mac OS, Linux, Windows 2000, Windows XP, Vista and Window 7 as well as with Playstation 3, XBox 360 and Wii. Probably I’ll order it.

See the device in action in demo video below.

Bought this product recently and the old saying of you get what you pay for holds true here. Its cheap, feels cheap, touchpad is not very responsive. Keypad feels cheap and only works some of the time. I would rather spend more and get something of better quality.

Though a bit higher priced. I would love to own the wireless GlideTV Navigator. From the reviews I have read about it, the touchpad on this thing rocks.

I purchased it half year ago at another site called efo. It sold at US$45 including shipping fee. It is a great product.

2htpcguru: thanks for the sharing your opinion! That’s sad to have bad implementation of the good idea.
2Peter: I saw that device some time ago. It looks good but it doesn’t have a keyboard. The better option can be Logitech diNovo Mini. It’s more expensive but with higher quality.

Strange!!!! It really show the keyboard. How come say that don’t have keyboard???

I buy this device and really happy with the features that it provide. The cost is much lower than diNovo Mini (only US 45 include shipment). Although it is not full keyboard but all those keys are sufficient for my own use. I specially like the large touchpad that can do the handwritten. Save a lot of my input time. I also buy from the http://efo.buy-lowest.com. The delivery is really fast. It is worth to have a try and you will suprise how good it is.

2Jackson: I’m talking about GlideTV Navigator and not about the Handheld ;) GlideTV Navigator doesn’t have QWERTY keyboard which can be useful in many cases.
